THE FALL OF AUTUMN Once more around the clock Seasons revolving the rock Summer warmth fading Autumn cool chill invading As fall breezes crispen The tree branches wispen Naked twigs callin Their harvest now fallen One last leaf, out on a limb Franticly clinging to the brim The reds, golds and ambers below Beckon- give up, let go! The last tinged leaf tumbles down To join the colored ground To swirl around the trees As they dance upon the breeze [This message has been edited by katahdin (10-07-2012 09:26 PM).] |

Beautiful, Kat! I can feel - not the march, but the tiptoeing, decisive, though it is - of Time through the days of Autumn, onwards to Winter. Owl |

Aww, you had me rooting for the darn leaf to hang on, brother, hang on, Kat. I have seen limbs on trees that had just one stubborn leaf refuse to let go for the longest time. Enjoyed this whimsey, rhyming poem. ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~*~ |

Thanks Owl! Tiptoeing towards winter is exactly how I picture Fall. Autumn is many people's favorite season but not mine because it means winter is soon upon us! Jerry - I've seen those trees with one lonely leaf left. It was part of my inspiration for this poem. Thanks for the comments. |

I can smell the air. The poem made me smile and the graphic was really nice. I loved how 3-D it looks. A |
