A Lowly Caste I wonder how many Soldiers Would, take back, what they could A mind, or an arm, or leg To, stand them, as they should. How many of those Heroes Who, had the Guts and Will to Die Would stand again, give their All For, some stupid War, that is a lie. Not all have gone there, willingly For many, it was that Call Worth them, the blood, and heartache To, answer, their Country’s Call. But, too many have been Lost To, the Call of those who lead(?) Who, sit at Home, Safe and sound While, they let those others bleed. Yes, sometimes, for Freedom But, too many oft times, naught It’s been to treasure, the rich Add the wealth, to what they’ve got. Freedom, Family, are worthy goals For, a Man to take a Stand But, never, just, for Wartime’s sake To make, some Power, Grand‼ Ask, all those Families, so Proud About, all those Tears they’ve cried If it was worth all of the Pain The Lives, of those, who’ve Died? Most, must say, “It’s worth it!” They, must validate, that Death Say, “I was Proud of my Hero! Until, they took, their Final Breath!” And Proud, they should really be For, all of those who gave their All But, sometimes those, who send them Should not, make, that Fatal call. War is for the Rich, and Powerful They reap the wealth, with little spent They’d never have the guts to go Where, those Soldiers, are sent‼ Let’s put them on the front lines And see, just how long they’d last They’d come crawling back to safety Because, of their lowly, caste. You are far too honest Abe...perhaps that is why people have shyed from this poem.. Then again you can't help it, as truth was what your namesake was all about. |

"Let’s put them on the front lines And see, just how long they’d last They’d come crawling back to safety Because, of their lowly, caste." You would have to fit them with diapers first, they'd make a mess of things. Enjoyed your write, Abe. JL Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.
