Today is not my birthday, I am just writing about it.

It was a good time the day I was born,
I wouldn't say blessed, but what do I know?
My mom gave me away on my birth bed,
Grew up with deceit and lies, stunted growth.

And so I spent many dark years alone,
Afraid to make friends, I trusted no one.
Like Poe's cocky Raven, I preserved,
I did my time, squinting toward the sun.
