So here we are In a fashion What at last Shall we talk about Without each other’s voices The long gaze a certain smile Shall we prattle on like old Grown shallow acquaintances Make lists of how we’ve changed Exchange recipes for killing time No burning bush atop a mountain Symbols subtle metaphors A special place or star in our evening sky Oh once all in all The blank screen seems a wiser silence Somewhere still beside a sea If left safe apart from what now we are A candle shines . |
