She waited until the river high noon Her indelible feet like the small wrinkles of leaves that bestowed all around her She waited until the sea was quiet waves once standing on their high heels suddenly became the calm to the nights easy stare She waited with her mothers ears her fathers tears a burden so large Her thinly, veiled dress had finally lost its color Lost its shade in the writhing of her pain a place alone, a place she now calls home. |
