        Dream Lover

I thought that I
was lost forever
in an eternal Winter
of the heart …
my soul condemned
to  cold, dark, barren,
and soundless places
where it could
never dance again ...
until you came
so unexpectedly
with the finest music,
magic, color, and sunlight
of your being
like a tender dream within
  a dream
of boundless hope,
infinite love, and
endless Spring.
