Picking shards of my heart
Out of my blood red sleeve
Fighting that first reaction
To run away and leave
As if the hurt
Would stay behind
And I could make
A fresh start
Without any connection
To those that need me
Want to do my blues solo
Drowning them in reckless
Making a mess
Of feeling so low
That the sad
Makes me want
To act out
And show my bad
Just want to run
And run and run
‘till I’m numb

Oh boy, Lori. This is a gut-wrenching piece of writing. Hope it is just a poem and not real.
