Darkness Swallows You

Have you ever
Woken in the night
And been swallowed by the darkness
Like some cosmic black hole
Pulling you inexorably to it's heart
Then you look to your own heart
And you find the light you were seeking
To quiet your trembling nerves.

No, I don't search for my heart's light I switch on the bedside lamp. All my demons disappear. Well, except those who lurk in the deepest recesses of my brain.
