Misappropriated Subliminal hiss, tethered God – the soul dances in flight. A feathered kiss, heavenly trod, I come to you tonight. But dare I lift my eyes unto that alabaster shrine? What unsought gift might run me through, that I should name you mine? Secrets untold, I don't know why; and thus, they hit their mark. Lies they uphold cloud up the sky along Gramercy Park. The cynical, the dear jaded, those lost along the way Deflecting rule, and near faded, all slip to shades of gray. Lifeless limbs, like fingers from hell, sprout from the grassy knoll... As somewhere strikes a mourning bell, as timeless as the soul. Crosses and stones, with gnarled teeth, prove nothing stays the same. Walk on, alone – all you bequeath is but a face, and name. Till from a silence-stricken tongue, one scream pierces the night. A groan, a sigh – the dead have sung of their misguided plight. But charge they now you, from the buried gates of Babylon... Ahead they plow unto the very mists of Avalon. And you can feel the poison tears raining on the aftermath... But you can't will away the years, drinking to the devil's wrath. The fight's primal, the fantasy real, the attitude deception! The fear visceral, and so you kneel, if for your own protection. The cemetery is the mind – suicidal... romantic! It always varies what you find – paranoid... schizophrenic! The darkness, itself, casting shadow, is misappropriated... No appeasing it, it's the devil you know...the one that's never sated! Good to see you, Michael. This, to me is one of your better efforts. It's a perfect poem of the fight that is never ever finished. I said I was happy to see you, and I am, because the place for the last few weeks just doesn't seem the same. Something has been lost. Eh, maybe it's just me. ~*~ If they give you ruled paper write sideways. ~*~ |

Michael, when you round the quest, all seems then, then now, and then... future promisy. Never does a word written fall from your pen that it doesn't heft it's own weight in wisdom... and don't shake your head, m'son...for it is truth that I speak. Your wisdom far surpasses your years... and your problems, truly, are still light in the dust. I thank you always for having you in my life, and I will always thank Him for keeping you close. |

I can relate to this. Very much. You never win with the devil. You might think you do, but you don't, he is uncanny. I was born when she kissed me, |

From first line to last, the images are so vivid, the battle so real. Beautiful work, m'friend! |
