 Uploaded with ImageShack.us the humidity is so sticky a mere glimpse at something will imprint its impression where you next look forever sweat beads my forehead I chance a glance in the yellowed cracked mirror my image is more alarming to me than if I were looking at my skeleton mid-June at mid-day a glass of cheap California burgundy is my shaking hand I'm sitting on my front porch easier to take this inventory of moi I've decided that my sexual history is my essential truth and should be written as fiction sex is good its making love that gets all complicated most make love urgently, hungrily as though the world might end before they were through slow down, the heat will assert itself aww, the silence is killing me I was almost ready to recite what I'd written thus far on this poem but a child shrieked somewhere in the distance and quiet enveloped me again ©June 14, 2012 / Jerry Pat Bolton ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~*~ |

Oh, I understand Marilyn, and therein lies just one of the differences between the sexes. I'm not saying that sex for sex sake is better than making love, but I AM saying that making love has a tendency to grow into bitter enemies sooner rather than later. Not all, but I imagine the percentage is high on the complicating side. Thank for reading and commenting, I appreciate it. ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~*~ |

I am a red head so for me sex is important but I believe we need a harmonious balance for love to work its magic...I always enjoy your poetry, my friend...I find myself learning so much...*BIG HUGS*mmmmI do not mean that other colored hair doesn't find sex important...just for me it is part of my makeup... *may our dreams ever be magical* |

Darn, your photo doesn't show you hair as being red, Karen. I like redheads. Oh, I agree, love can up the ante insofar as sex, but most of us can enjoy sex without love worming its way in and basically screwing up the screwing. Haha! ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~*~ |
