Agreement It’s early but the sun is up I breathe deeply of morning air Then listen to the quiet sounds My world will awaken slowly Young birds demand parents feed them Myriad flowers look to the sun Their scent brought on a gentle breeze Clouds travel across azure skies People walking for exercise Hurry along get distance in Not slowing to give their minds rest Forgetting nurture of spirit Sadness fills me for such a loss Day runs into day and then years Will they realize what they’ve missed In the early dawn of the day I am in agreement with those Who bring peace to spirit and soul Sharing with others of like mind The beauty of ancient cosmos Karen Mc Neil July 14, 2012 *may our dreams ever be magical* |

So many of us lost so many years, in my case decades, before they stopped long enough to deal with the beauty around them. ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~*~ |

People walking for exercise Hurry along get distance in Not slowing to give their minds rest Forgetting nurture of spirit I have to disagree with this stanza because I exercise and it is a cleansing experience. I may be running to get my blood pumping but I take in my surroundings while I do that. I also find it a very spiritual time...inner reflection. |

I'm certainly guilty of losing many years but, boy, did nature's beauty suddenly hit right where it should. I'm not a runner but I understand from others that Marilyn's comment applies to many of them. Enjoyable read with a message for those who were too busy like me to put aside the cares of the day. I've always believed most people, whatever they are doing, see but don't see. So many times when with others, particularly when walking or 'tromping', I'm pointing out things practically in their faces, that they didn't see until then... I think you've basically said the same thing here, especially in your stanza ... "People walking for exercise Hurry along get distance in Not slowing to give their minds rest Forgetting nurture of spirit" Cool... j. |
