I hate being alone, hurts to the bone, I've nothing to show, I guess I'll eat crow. I'm no longer me, I have been set free, But free I don't want, as you stand and flaunt. I've secrets to tell, or maybe I'll sell, This feels like a wake, I long for a break. The turmoil inside has robbed my pride, I am the man without a good game plan. Are you happy now? You broke every vow. I am a memory, without love's key. I stare into space, picture you in lace, You have dealt me out, that's what its about. We were happy once, now I'm the dunce, My head is cast down, my face has a frown. You used to confide, and oh, how I tried, You think I forgot I was a subplot. Think I wish you cheer? Hope your teeth rot, dear. There are times at night I've you in my sight. I brought a new scope, even nighttime hope, I don't wish you well, I cast evil spells. I appreciate your comments, M, and believe it or not, but it has helped. Thanks, Ms E, as I was saying to M things are better. She is still gone, but maybe it is for the best. Fine writing...its hard to let go but if we can imagine having to stay in a relationship we are unhappy with we can understand the need to be set free. And then its still hard and takes time, understanding and choices...James |
