Staying Alive

I was told to go to Tokyo,
It would be a routine hit,
a woman that had been placed
on a high priority list.
Seems this woman in Japan
had been designated to die
by the violence of my hand.
Just one well placed punch
to her throat and her life
will be totally terminated.
No more words, no more sighs,
no more kisses, no time to cry,
and I was fine with this situation.
I had never failed to make a hit
in twenty years at my occupation.
Soon a package was delivered
to the privacy of my hotel room.
There were no recordings
saying this is your mission
no words asking for my permission,
inside a brown paper envelope
there was a picture of the woman
that I had been missing.
Yes it was the very same woman
that left me over one year ago.
Yes the one that I love,
yes the one I never wanted to go.
So now within the next 48 hours
I'm expected to end her life,
but I have other plans for her,
I will help her begin a new life.
I know a place thats safe and far away,
a secret hideaway in Asia
where we can share our days.
Now our location I must conceal
but these few words I will reveal,
we are together and we are far away
and we are alive to live another day.
