Where does blue begin? For I have wondered recently, Having seen it in a newborn's eye... Hearing it In a song Of the south... Where does blue begin? In a heavy heart, perhaps, or in the sound Of a sigh gone low... Or is it caught up in an ocean's view, A reflection of a horizon, or two? Is it in the bell of a flower, Or whisking by on wing of bird, Perhaps the color, uniformed, Or swimming merrily... Blood, I've heard, Is oft-times blue, And shadows portend To hold it, too.... Where does it begin...? Even Webster agrees... It's the color of sky Or of the deep sea... It's an emotion grabbing hold of you... Perhaps its our world, A marble of blue And a marvel to view. Blue is a castaway island, The place for poets and fun. A refuge for you and for I, We come here to laugh or cry. Blue is a place to sing our song, Stand and be counted we are strong. ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~*~ |

I wrote a poem once called Shades of Blue... and while I peeked at blue in its every hue, I simply accumulated words. You found the soul, the heartbeat, the magic. *S* Beautiful, beautiful write! |

I really enjoyed this K. It's amazing how much colors shape our world, and define our lives. You hit the tip of the iceberg here... you could probably expound on this to cover the colors of the spectrum. Great read. Michael |

Perhaps it begins where the grey of mediocrity ends. Perhaps it begins with this poem. Ida |

Is it in the bell of a flower, Or whisking by on wing of bird, Perhaps the color, uniformed, such beautiful images and words you have presented to the reader, marvelous poem!. Fine writing, really enjoyed. "The secret behind survival of mankind is kindness and love within our hearts" |

Beautiful Karilea. From the title on through the verses this is gentle and a wonderful relanguage of words into appealing thoughts. And, I always thought blue began in John Lee Hooker's guitar, see, just how wrong one can be........ Loved this. Eric true love never looks after it's own interests |
