When I awaken in the morning And I do not feel a pain, When my coffee pot is gurgling I feel happiness again. When I check with all my loved ones And they're just as well as I, When my friends who have been ailing Say they're better, my oh my! I'm happy! When my to-do list is checked off And I still am feeling fine, When I look for contest winners And the first name there is mine. I'm happy. When no one seems to worry About what's been said or not, When the box I thought was empty Has a chocolate I forgot. I'm happy. When my kitties are both healthy And my cupboard isn't bare When I read obituaries and My own name isn't there. I'm happy! Sitting by my blazing fire With more fuel in the hod Searching deep in soul to find out That I'm quite all right with God. I'm happy! Oh I know the world has troubles And I've surely had my share. This treasure of contentment Doesn't mean I do not care. I'm happy!!! By: Joyce Johnson |

When no one seems to worry About what's been said or not, When the box I thought was empty Has a chocolate I forgot. I'm happy. All of your reasons for happiness are wonderful and the above especially precious . I know you care, dear Joyce, it's such a joy to find you in here with this intensely uplifting poem! Margherita |

I loved this. It is the simple things, for the most part, that give you true happiness. This is just a delightful read. ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~*~ |

Loved it, my friend ... especially ... "When my coffee pot is gurgling I feel happiness again." That's my second most happy thought every morning, the first being - I'm able to have the second!! j. |
