I want to know what it’s like to have extreme heart control and keep love’s basic attributes imprisoned behind bars. Is there a fight for breath, a decided lack of exercise, and nourishment not suited for eternal growth? And when the nightmares come is there a cry for comfort and can the eyes dismiss the downward fall of tears? Is there a reach and stretch beyond the physical seeking there a reason for imprisonment? Or does love simply die and stripped of memory interned deep within the psyche to not ever rise again? Before I buy, beg, borrow, steal, please tell me what it’s like and most important definitely does it work for you? Helen / 1 July 2012 |

I don't think many of us, if any, who can maintain heart control. We lose our hearts all too often, have it broken and still later on lose it again. I think it is the roll of the dice when we meet some one and give them our hearts. I have known people who have lived together for many years and then they decide to get married. Within a few years far too many of them are calling lawyers for divorce proceedings. Am I against marriage? No, I am not, but sometimes signing on that dotted line changes people. It does. It really does. ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~*~ |

Thanks, Jerry. Yes, I agree with regards to the dotted line. I came to the conclusion today that I'm lucky to have only truly given my heart and, of course, had it "broken" only once because I couldn't have survived otherwise. That's just me, I guess. |

I know what Jerry means...that dotted line can cause a lot of problems...the worst for me is discovering that the partner doesn't love just wants control and to destroy the heart...May hope live eternal...*BIG HUGS* to you from me *may our dreams ever be magical* |

I'd like to know too Helen. We're all different and some of us deal with hurt better than others. The trauma of losing love is as heavy as death but the joy of finding it leaves one in a paradise that can never be completely explained. Great thought evoking writing Helen as always of course...... thought-provoking and made me see a little of myself in it I guess sometimes people grow cold and hard, or maybe the way they love just changes into something different I've loved a lot...and I've loved very little or just not at all. I guess it just depends on the circumstances. |

Thanks, everyone. Hmm? Perhaps I had "heart control" for the better part of my life and just wasn't conscious of it. That would explain a lot of things. |

"And when the nightmares come" ...and they do come. I have learned to say, yes, I did those things; they are mine to carry. ...and so I carry them in the belief that by so doing I may never choose those paths again. |

Honeybunch - Isn't it amazing how we lock our pain away hoping it would somehow insulate us from more hurt only to find that we have jailed ourselves along with our fears in a cell without parole. Sometimes we have to pardon ourselves, step from the jail and take a chance on life and love again. We have been designed for accomplishment and engineered for success. No need to let it all go to waste unless we choose it. This piece makes you think and I'm glad you wrote it Honeybunch. Namyh |

If I knew, I'd share the answer... My heart keeps smashing its little wings of hope... making me wish for an intact shell. *S* |

"I want to know what it’s like to have extreme heart control and keep love’s basic attributes imprisoned behind bars." I too want to know... it's difficult to have heart control. |

Thanks to all for your comments. I greatly appreciate them. It's actually "heart-warming" to know that no one can answer my question. It must be mind control then because it would seem that the heart runs on automatic pilot - or something like that. ![]() Helen |
