God's Fingerprint On the Sistine, Michaelangelo painted God's fingered thrust giving with Love the gift of Life to Man fresh from dust. First breath, beneath the Heavens ! Second breath, on land and sea ! From then 'til now, a thrusted finger sculpts his Destiny. Not long ago, Instinct was his primal need and guide when smells repelled, fires frightened and lightning made him hide and stars up in the Heaven were just punctures in the night while reflections in the water were the ghosts he could not fight. Then Lightning struck and all beasts ran. He made a mental leap to stand his ground in Thunder's roar, a choice to "not" retreat. And Nature merged with Instinct to define Creation's goal from God's thrusted fingerprint now stamped upon his Soul. And if Time's compressed into a day for beasts for Man and flowers, then Life with many a cell showed up in just the last twelve hours. And Dinosaurs walked on Earth last hour ! Pre-Man, a minute or so ! Modern Man, you and I only just got here less than a second ago. Still time to learn from Wisdom ! Still time to shed the Fears of pain and War mourned by moms who've cried a billion tears. Embrace the Life that's precious. Be proud you're Man from dust and fashioned by the hand of God in a single fingered thrust ! Namyh |

This is amazing, Namyh. I am not a believer, and in fact am writing a novel called, "The Last Great God." I am searching for answers as I write the book just as my main character, Johnny Penn Butler is. This poem grabbed me. I will add it to my library and refer to it as I continue to write hoping I can find what I need to find in its words. Again. Amazing write. ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~*~ |

JerryP – It’s the questions that makes us human in search of answers that could make us gods. So, there we are a curious species aspiring to learn all it can in quest of divine wisdom. Most times it’s the search that transforms us more than the answer we find. Sounds like an interesting book JP. Good luck writing it and thanks for enjoying. Namyh |

Startime – No poet can ask for more than for a piece to touch the heart with tears and captivate like a prayer. All of that and ‘BIG HUGS’ put a Startime in my day. Thanks. Namyh Michael – You heard the word. Amen! And seen the light. Hallelujah! Namyh Sunshine – One ‘stun’ a day is good for the soul. I’m so glad to provide one for you today. Makes a poet proud. Thanks. Michael – Coming from a kindred scribbler of words, your words are high compliment indeed and I thank you James for each of them. Namyh ebonygirl – If you enjoyed this work, it’s more than enough for me and I thank you. Namyh suthern - At my age, I relish every AMEN I can get along with each BRAVO because on judgement day, these are the very items which are gonna hopefully tip the scale in my favor and I thank you for them ‘S’….…. in advance! Hope this piece left a fingerprint on ya too. Namyh |

Margherita – I watched Jurassic Park and the disparity of 65 million years between dinosaur and man was intriguing and prompted research resulting in this poetic work. There! You dragged it out of me Alice and I’m so glad you enjoyed it. Your loving the thoughts expressed made it all worth it. It’s a good thing I wasn’t watching Aliens or Priceline.com with William Shatner. Geez! LOL. Thanks Margherita. Your fan, Namyh. luminosity - Thanks for your enjoyment. Now you got me feeling illuminated which proves a lightbulb isn’t the only thing that glows. Namyh |

Good perspective. Well presented verses. Reminds me of an old joke. A scientist came to God and said, "God we don't need you anymore!" God replied, "why do you say that?" "Because we have learned how to make man all by ourself." God asked, "can you tell me how you do that?" "By using the dust of the ground just like you do!" scientist replied excitedly. "Maybe you could show me," God said. "Sure," said the scientist and he bent over and grabbed a handful of dirt. God then spoke out forcefully, "oh no no, get your own dirt!" Eric – “oh no no, get your own dirt!”, I like that Eric. It goes to show you. Just when you think you know everything, reality smacks you in the face letting you know that you have a long way to go before becoming wise after you’ve gotten smart. Glad you like the perspective and verses. Namyh |
