Blue sea
Blue sky

Blue eyes
What did it matter—
Your almost being
A feral animal
With so much blue
Around you and your
Long blond hair

So what
If you weren’t much
In conversation
Had little imagination
Your slender figure
Against the setting sun

We were young
I was strong
And you were beautiful

It was enough
For happiness
At the time
