My Fur Buddies

My best friends
are sisters
of the feline
kind

They follow me
around the house
Sniff out
all the things
my hands
touch

When I get out
of my seat
in the morning
to head for work
My fur buddy
takes my spot
and sleeps

When I am gone
on long trips
my bed
becomes theirs
and a haven
of safety

When I am watching TV
one fur buddy
takes over my lap
the other sleeps
up next to
her more on
the couch

My fur buddies
are my best friends
The best friends
I never had
and they show me
the love I so
desperately
need
