A Flash of Light A flash of light – captured and held Piercing the breast – electric touch A drop of rain – mingled with tears Bringing a smile – warming the soul Rolling thunder – excites the heart Hearing it beat – desire flows hot Wind blows wildly – swaying the trees Face is upturned – natures caress Majestic bird – raised above all The bright plumage – claims it as male Message it takes – far in distance Words are wanted – to warm a heart Lips shape the words – sending a kiss Feel tender touch – sent from the sky Arms open wide – waiting embrace Strong arms enfold – bringing a moan A flash of light – brings back to life Reality – again alone Still thought is sent – over the land Where dream or not – fantasy reigns Karen Mc Neil June 2, 2012 *may our dreams ever be magical* |
