Photo by: Earl Nottingham, TPWD Chief Photographer (Texas Parks and Wild Life) Wale Knot Morning, alive with a fresh gale, warbling sounds, life motions active with bulrush sprinkled thin and being tossed about by the warm wind… Past mornings memory only. So seems the gale then, was pleasant to canoe tied at camp moorings… Those times past never to be seen again… as once Wompeague worn, at times traded by native brown skin. A posteriori now as analysis celebrated by currency of a once-was heritage… Their squaw’s hair braided to wale knot, today abandoned from this Palo Duro Canyon. Its southern plains Indians for history only, now, a burial plot… . . Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. Love your neighbor as yourself. Maranatha! |

Nicely done, JL. Heritage and history and the death of a race is never easy to write about or to read. You did a "whale" of a job. ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~*~ |

Thanks, Mr. JP. I got the inspiration from Lori's: "The Knot of Naught", and a few other thing-a-ma gigs.... I appreciate the reply. JL Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. Love your neighbor as yourself. |
