It’s hours after midnight, rain is pounding on the walls; Mother’s crying and it’s not right he’s not answering her calls. Dinner sits upon the table- it was made for him at five; Mother’s heart becomes unstable as he hasn’t yet arrived. Mother’s air is thick with tension, as she drinks more on her own; Seems that he forgot to mention that she’d spend tonight alone. Her inebriated feelings mixed with months of held-in pain leave her staring at the ceiling wiping tears that mimic rain. This desertion happens often; can’t believe one more excuse. So she waits ‘til her tears soften, then she lets her feelings loose. Seven years and they’re still trying but their love isn’t the same. Recent “love” for her is crying while for him it’s feeling shame. *Amber |

Ah, and such is married life all too often. Wandering eyes have destroyed marriage which had fallen into the rut if complacency. ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~*~ |
