Automobiles yell combustible obscenities iPod ear buds sprout weeds of deafness Car doors slam shut, forever victims of misguided anger Exoskeletons of dead leaves are crushed by misplaced feet Various cellphone ringers compete for the "most annoying" award Profanity used in an attempt to look cool Ice is broken by an Axe called "Did you get my text?" Loud restroom hand driers evict quiet from its residence...the library Someone is crunching on an artificially flavored snack A potato chip bag has an irritatingly beautiful musical quality to it The horrifying squeal of school bus brakes Children practicing curse words they learned from their parents The envelope crunches and contorts As I tear open the newest bill for this month Every cable channel on my flat screen TV Produces robust sounds of ignorance...in HD The hardwood floors groan As I make my way through the house And the last thing I hear is my bed squeak While I lie waiting for the sound of sleep |

You have done an excellent job on bringing forth the sounds and sights of the city. You reached back and pulled out some that most people would never have included. ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~*~ |
