Long ago and far away a haunted soul was formed- A sentinel, a watcher bold, and far beyond the norm. The Silver Surfer he was called; he cannot be ignored With shiny skin, blank starring eyes, and trusty stellar board. His destiny...to surf the skies, patrol the Universe- See sights unseen by human eyes, immortal is his curse. To gaze upon the plight of man, his love, his hate, his wars- And surf the long forgotten strands; and sail forbidden shores. To see the lovely Saturn rings, Uranus bare and cold- To surf the very face of Sol, as flares around him rolled. He's watched the growth of Nebula, and searched the Milky Way Saw suns go nova, moons be born; and races fade away- He knows the way of man with maid, of love and life and death And longs to have mate of his own, and sighs with every breath. A mate for such inhuman soul? I scarcely dare to think! So on he goes as ages roll; a bitter cup to drink. And yet the surfer dares to dream; of one to call his own- To share his sorrow, make him clean: yet he surfs on alone. He cares not for her outward looks, nor age, for he is old He's merely longing for a heart, to warm him when he's cold. A kindly word, a gentle smile; to love him as he is... A loving glance, a gentle kiss; would be to him, such bliss. But who could love a being such, as Surfer...for their own? Alas, it seems his search is vain, so he surfs on alone. |

A man alone to do whatever he pleases, whenever he pleases. |
