"Change"

People change as surely as the seasons
Though most would not admit a change has come
And many change uncertain of the reasons
And others know exactly what it's from

Moments in our lives can mold and shape us
For good or ill, the choice is ours to make
We mustn't let the chance to change escape us
To stagnate in ourselves is a mistake

The message of your poem was understood that change is inevitable and that we must continue to strive and adapt. If only life were so easy. Sigh....

It is said that the more things change the more they stay the same. I hope that doesn't apply to people. It would be like a process of changing only to the extent that one reinforces and fortifies his narrow view of the world, as in, say, angry political ideology that is so rampant today. I really like your poem -- very wise and instructive.

I remember my father saying more than half a century ago -- change is the very scheme of life. I have built on that idea, and have gained so much by it. Again, I appreciate your poem.
