I have to pull myself together, grab ahold of the reigns again. He says I'm much too beautiful to be having all these pains again. There's a lot of things people know but many things they don't, I say I'll get it all together but deep down I know I won't. I will never get the past behind me and the future will always be unknown, and even with all these folks around me I forever feel alone. I'm sure there will soon come an "all or nothing" moment in time, I can't honestly say which way I'll go and it may be left to the toss of a dime. I'm still a child, and a coward, reckless and see what I want to see, I am not a criminal, yet I will never be truly free. |

This is a painful, inward introspection Dixie. I feel you here. I can only hope that you find the peace that can only come from within. |

hello PS, this is very philosophical and thoughtful but please don't let the dime decide for you...The poem is gorgeous and raise questions about freedom that make think....I think that we are free at first in front of ourselves when we have not a lot of troubles or are not sick, sometimes humility is necessary to be free or respect other ones...I adore your poem that met my present mood and fit to my present thoughts while reading it....Thanks for a very enjoyable and questionning read... regards yann |

For whatever it may mean to you, Dixie, you have a friend in me, and I feel deeply for the uncertainty and doubt you are facing. Freedom, as you know, is relative, and is limited by the inevitable restraints that the circumstances of life present to us. I do all I can to live in the present, for as Longfellow has said, "it is thine." and I also reflect on his advise that we should look to the future without fear, and with a [determined] heart. I wish you the very best, and hope that you will somehow find that inner peace that surpasses all comprehension. Love and friendship -- Art |

Yo Passing shadows, You said it all in the first line. That's something only you can do. Like, you're on your own. Bobby |

The words are touching and deserving of a response. The writer is filled with anguish and uncertainty leaving the reader with a hope that these issues will be solved. Nice work here. |
