UNTITLED ~ If numb is a reminder of how far acceptance is from understanding then I've accepted that I don't love you. No, I don't love you anymore I don't miss you and I don't know you – I know now that I never did. Somewhere along the way we left behind the lightness of living and became the dullness of scars that breathe like stone. I left you tears sometimes though you never took the time to understand what they meant. And I only ever wanted to say that I never loved in vain yet you and I know that the mind cannot make the heart understand. The truth is I tried too hard to turn this lie into something real. I tried but never found your affection anything other than arduous your courting cliched your praises shallow your promises reckless; and it has become painfully obvious that you only loved me with the originality of a cheap romance novel. But you were young and so was I and our lessons learned will become a remarkable coldness. I don't love you anymore I'm not sure I ever did then again denial is comforting and my lesson learned will seem like a slow disease wanting only the familiarity of you. No, don't let this sadness touch you nothing of value is lost neither of us truly loved with full abandon I only thought I did and you only wanted to. ~ By Melissa Long-Monette Intellectually I know that Canada is no better than any other country. Emotionally I KNOW that Canada is the best country in the world! [This message has been edited by Honeybee (03-16-2010 11:39 PM).] |

Dear Melissa how could I let this poem disappear with out commenting on it. You think at the time you have wasted your time but it is all a part of life and you will be much wiser next time. My thoughts are with you my dear and I wish you well. Lindsay |
