Bones knows
that most people
that know about him,
and what he does to live
would like to help him.

He also knows
that they don’t do anything
to help him.

They don’t lift
a single finger
to aid him.

As far as Bones
is concerned,
those people
are almost
as useless to him,
and just as bad
as the people
that like to hurt him.

I read somewhere in the Book of James, that it isn't enough to tell a hungry man, go in peace my friend, but rather to say to him, here my brother is bread, take and eat! There are, as the poem point out, those people who really don't care with demonstrative love, and as President George Washington said: ". . .it is better to be alone, than in bad company."
