This Day Today I will take one word And thus make it sing; Today I will free one bird And help give it wing; Today I will smile at you And allow you to be; Today I will laugh with you And pray you laugh with me. Today I will cherish all things Just because they are here; Today I will give of myself, Because I hold me dear; Today I will face my fear And fly straight in its face; Today I will hold you close And be nourished from your embrace. Today I will do, and be, my best And know if I fail, I tried, the test. And tomorrow, I will begin again. 18 November, 1999 ©KRJ This, as a prayer for not only you, but for me, tomorrow, on yet another sojourn into the unknown. Say a little prayer, if you're willing, around 1:00 CDT. Bless you! |

Magnificent verse, bold and courageous, yet tender, and filled with hope---a poem of quiet eloquence, well wrought. I am moved. Art |

Art, thank you. Say a little prayer, if you are so moved to do so.... and thank you, my gentle friend. |

Sunshine, there's an old gospel song I used to sing as a boy---"Prayer Changes Things." I will say a prayer. Art |

Yo dear Sunshine, I liked the thought behind this poem. It's a smooth running poem that works for me. Bobby |

very very moving, Sunshine. For those quiet private times with G*d. This would work nicely for those times and for rejuvination. Jeff |

Love the awareness that emanates from this intense and beautiful write. Didn't see this in time, but I will still say a little prayer of gratitude for the outcome will be the best for you ... anyway. "Thank you Universe for guiding Karilea in this very particular moment"! Love, Margherita |

Thanks for reading, my friends. The prayer request I made for myself wasn't answered in the way I wanted, but that doesn't mean that what I asked for was meant to be at this time. It just means that there's something else coming my way. This particular rejection letter mentioned receiving over 150 applications for this one position. I was one of the few who were interviewed. I rank that as better than those who weren't interviewed, right? It also gave me a reason to look in the mirror, take stock, and dress up for the day. It was a good day then. It's a good day now. |
