The Bank Of Hearts I went to the “Bank Of Hearts” To check up on my account They said, that 1 was overdrawn That, l owed a large amount. The interest rate compounds each day And wipes out the principal Looks like I’ll never get ahead Of this never ending bill. I’m sending all that I can spare But it never seems enough It won’t cover the late charges And all of that other stuff. I’m so far behind in payments The duns say they’ll repossess And I wonder how I ever Got myself into this mess. I could withdraw and skip out Get away with what I can Or I could let my love default And hope that they’d understand. But., I’m bound by that contract And someday I’ll get it paid For, even with all the trouble The best deal I’ve ever made. Yo Abe, Always pay your bills. If you don't they'll catch up on you from behind, and bite you you know where. Bobby |

Sad, but a good write! Shades of old Beppo in Mr. Ende's intuitive novel Momo. |
