Sea at Dusk The waves stood still that night As I stood in the window and watched the sea The clouds rolled in There was a sense of silence all around The wind blew my hair slightly around my face I reached for another sip Lightning crashed As I put the glass down and walked through the room I stopped and noticed my reflection I leaned in What have I become When did this happen My life is good I travel for work My only friend on these long lonely trips Is the glass in my hand I shut the light off by the bed And headed back to the window I reached for the glass It dropped It broke I watched as the rain started to come down Slowly raindrops rolled onto the table Washing away that poison If only the rain could do the same for me I hold out my hand Hanging out the window Rain at my fingertips Thunder all around I take a deep breath I close the window And run my wet hand through my hair Without picking up the broken shards of glass I go to bed with him I walk in the clouds, I sing in the dust |

Heavy. So heavy I couldn't breath. Excellent write. Absolutely excellent. Fall in love early, fall in love often. |
