You left the room and I noticed my heart beating sand and stone skinned drums. My breath felt full of air, my air felt full of oxygen, and you sent the whole lot whistling over glass bottle mouths. The chemicals in my body pretended I was falling from the sky and I allowed them that lie because it felt good to be alive again. ____________________________________ Leaf, Overturned. (series.)
