I Did Not Write This Verse

I did not write this verse as well as
It has written me
It leaped ahead of all my thoughts
In utter jubilee

Unleashed the contents of my heart
And tears I’ve not yet wept
Aroused the corners dark and safe
Where my dear secret slept

I did not want him yet to know
How great the love I feel
That cruelly would a verse as this
Unravel and unseal

So unprepared was I to face
Whatever be my fate
I chose to take my pen in hand
And now it is too late

This was a masterful poem.
I love it.

And these lines are my favorite.

Unleashed the contents of my heart
And tears I’ve not yet wept
Aroused the corners dark and safe
Where my dear secret slept

But the ending comes together so nicely with the beginning.
Perfect.

At the risk of telling secrets, I have seen you go to the lady's room, and come out with a "perfect sonnet!" I am not at all surprised that your muse just grabs you by the brain, and you both run with it!
