Reruns Early in the morning time Smoke a cigarette or two With a few cups of coffee As I watch. reruns of you. I look out through the window Watch the early rising sun Wonder, what I'll do today? Till the sunset is rerun. Today is like yesterday A rerun of days before And I know that tomorrow I will miss you even more. The dream that I had last night And that old prayer that I said Will be rerun this evening In all those channels of my head. Wish that I could adjust them Could dial in a different hue See a show with bright colors Cause these reruns make me blue. I'll write words of love to you On this paper, front of me Say the same, page after page Hope it's reruns that you'll see. I know that it must get boring But I'm 'bout out of words that rhyme To say, that I'll always love you So it's old reruns one more time. One never gets tired of reruns of smiles or love, Abe. Very stirring writing, Mr. Springfield, Jeff |
