      Love’s Fire Dance

Here by the Winter firelight
your breath teases the
trembling candle flame
to dance like the spirits
in our finest dreams
or the free-flowing love
through this fragile heart
which you have stirred,
from the dark and lonely realms
of slumbering moonlit shadows
along life’s somber alien plain,
to revel in the simplest beauty
of the stars and the wind
and a thousand tiny, bright,
infinitely melifluous things.
