It snows in Bones beloved Philly,
and sometimes it snows a lot.

2010 is shaping up
to be Philly’s snowiest.
It’s already come in
as number two since 1882,
that’s when they started
keeping records of snowfall
in Philly.

Bones isn’t about
to let the snow beat him.

He’s dug his car out.

Now he’s ready
for the next big storm,
coming Tuesday.

Yeah,
Bones is one tough
73 year old dude,
he’s ready.

Bobby

Seems like man is ALWAYS digging himself out, Bobby, in one way or another.
For the elderly, it's more than serious.
The Bones series is brilliantly poignant, Bobby.

Thanks Jeff,

For your kind words on the Bones series.  I'm pleased it works that way for you.

If you like "Bones", you might like my "Marika", "Muck", "Felix", "Sarfons", and "City Boy Stays Alive".  They are all avaliable from Amazon, under the name "Robert E. Jordan".

Bones had better be careful. Ice and snow can be pretty rough for someone his age.
Even though Bones can handle most anything.

Bones loves the challenges, that's it. But he better be careful, I agree with Ida.

Enjoy the snowy view, but in safety.

Thanks dear Ida,

For your more than kind consern.

Bones has been fortunate enough to retain his tall, slim, flexible, and strong body over the years.

He's very lucky that way.

Thanks dear Margherita,

Don't worry Hon, Bones never bites off more than he can chew.

Bones is careful.

Time to get back shoveling.

Today was basically a day of rest~~ tomorrow will be the day of shoveling and snowthrowing I treated myself to one  for Christmas ...first time in 32 years and I picked a good year to get one!

So we will have a white Valentine's Day!
Be careful not to overdo it, Bobby.

Thanks dear M,

A snowthrower, WOW what a good idea.

I think the guy at the ice cream parlor down on the corner has one of them.  My neighbor, his six kids, and I help each other and other neighbors with snow removal.  Winters like this always bring the hood together.  It's kind of nice.

I won't overdo it Hon, not to worry.

yeah, if me and my baby ever go out on the road again, I sure don't want to be in Philly in the winter again

or Jersey, or New York, or DC...

I wanna go see the west!

Thanks dear Passing shadows,

Thanks for the reminder, I want to buy a new gas furnace to keep me warm during the winter.

There's a reason my parents moved from Canada to sunny So Cal., and why I still live here to this day. I don't like shovels. But I understand people who live in colder climates live longer. It's a trade off I guess. Stay warm!

Thanks Andrew,

We have all four seasons here in Philadelphia.  It keeps things interesting.

It's starting to warm up nicely here, it will be 90, and super humid in a couple of days.

Thanks Andrew,

There is nothing we can do about the humidity.  Mongo would just have to open up a fire hydrant to cool off on the real hot and humid days.

Then of course there's always the river.

We always have our big old Delaware River to jump into.  There's a good spot for swimming in the river within walking distance.

Thanks dear Juju,

It's sometimes hard to be proactive.  You never know how much snow your going to get.
