Your features complement you well
The complexion of your face
That look inside your eyes
Your affection never fails
To show that side of fear
We all try desperately to hide
Behind assumed assurance and expected confidence
When being yourself
Seems like a touchy subject
You'd rather just avoid
Because you've been hurt one too many times
And one more broken promise
Could destroy your last thread of trust
Believe me
This is conventional
And as inconvenient as it may seem
I need you to listen when I say,
"You're all I need"
Now that we've involved ourselves in each others thoughts
Processing each dilemma
As if it were our own
You're more than just a shallow commitment
Or another of my failed intentions
With such delicate devotions
And intricate emotions
I'd be proud to be the featured lover
Who you compliment so well

Emily
This is a beautiful expression of emotions from the inside out.

I thought this was really good and oh so true...
"When being yourself
Seems like a touchy subject
You'd rather just avoid
Because you've been hurt one too many times
And one more broken promise
Could destroy your last thread of trust
Believe me
This is conventional
And as inconvenient as it may seem
I need you to listen when I say,
"You're all I need""

Good work!

Like the positive outlook this poem has to offer the reader. Although there are darker tones throughout the gist of the poem is optimism. Excellent work.

To mimic is a form of praise unless
you have no thoughts of your own
