Waiting for you,
In the pale light of my Christmas tree…
I sit and ponder  if you got my letter,
The one that said I’ll be waiting for you….
I’ve been drinking wine,
And wearing that beautiful red dress…
And waiting for you…
The night grows shorter….
And yet I still sit and ponder,
Where  are you?
I hope you didn’t forget…
I close my eyes and listen,
To the Christmas songs playing…
When I hear the door open,
But no one entered…
I feel your warm embrace on my skin,
I turn around ,
And your no where to be…
I know we’re miles apart,
But for some reason I hear your voice…
I must be dreaming…
This can’t be real…
I look out the window,
Just to see the sky…
The sky is clear and I see nothing,
But stars and snow falling…
I try to hold back the tears..
But they  keep falling…
For where is my love on this Christmas night?
I hear you voice, and I feel your touch…
I must be goin in insane
I just hope wherever you are on this night,
That you can’t get me out of your mind…
Cuz no matter where you are on this Christmas night,
I want you to know I’ll be by your side…

Maybe he got backed up in Reindeer traffic, they say it is pretty heavy this time of year. Keep thinking positive. He's on his way.

You have the yearning down just right in this piece.
I really enjoyed the read.
Lonliness because of love is a real stabber isn't it?
"The sky is clear and I see nothing,
But stars and snow falling…"
I'm from Canada and I have seen this happen although it might seem impossible. Just light flakes of snow drifting on the winter air.

Good work!

Eric

ain't doin nothin at all just answerin the call
and kinda driftin away from it all
