We Are So Few In Cold Aware Of Starry Sky |

Gazing into Winter's night in troubled times that come like distant thunder, I wonder do they ever think of us back home. Walking deep through shadow's early morning so many centuries in plays well left unwritten, sad crowds of half blood princelings still surround me chasing faith with little understanding of a Universe no bigger than a single thought, inbred monkeys wrapped in holy obligations killing each other just to please their monkey god. Was it worth my soul's existence to leave home? So far from creation's shelter I feel empty; my dreams' repeating question oft arises like soft mist of compromises drifting slowly crashing on unyielding promises of unrepentant dawn; my thoughts slip through Orion's catalyst out yonder. Do they ever wonder what became of us back home? So many generations spent in building lives with bodies far too fragile for the chore, we become at times a joke of intervention while breeding stock play coquette at the door; seeds of peace scattered then abandoned in fields of bloody furrows filled with hatred, sacrifices given freely seeking roots in barren land, does it matter to the loves we left back home? ©2010 by icebox |

Charly - I like to think it does matter to those "back home" but that's perhaps just a survival tactic. I relate so much to your thinking here but could never express it as well as you've done. Thank you! Helen |

Charly...I've not been to the places you have been, but we all seem to make our own battleground. I believe it matters because of love, no matter where we are. |

Thank you all for the time it takes to read and to share your thoughts. It is a gift of kindness. |

Dear Charly, I believe they watch us closely, especially those like you, who are aware of "starry sky", of Home. Wonderful, profound, poetic ponderings. Let us never abandon the peacework, trusting that through all the seemingly never ending waste of time in fighting each other, instead of loving each other, we are sustained by our Source. Thank you, dear Charlie, for this precious gem. Love and peace, Margherita |

Charly, After reading your poetry, I always go back and read again. Days later I am back. I have come back to this poem probably four times - I get lost in the words and I feel ... sad. But, saddened by a plaintive poem written so beautifully. Hope that makes sense. I sometimes feel better than I can write. Merry Christmas. Alison |

Ice I know what you mean. Seems like there's several pieces left out of the puzzle and even the complete picture hardly makes any sense. Fragile, no kidding, and yet arrogant at the same time. An earthling man able love but never ever really understanding how to make it a catalyst for peace. All types of love...HA! Incoherence is a specialty of ours and we can't all get together and blend. So, let's blow the land out from underneath the men women and children in some other country. And, someday let them blow the land out from under us.......Will they think of you then?? Probably not! And, yeah you said it, "does it really matter to the loves we left back home?" Huh, wherever they are now? Tough question!! Eric ain't doin nothin at all just answerin the call |

I like this work and think it is very good. Your choice of term for Orion as mask or lens to look through, or (imagined?) passage to communicate through implies a chemistry background. And as far as I know the "princelings" are still around, as are their hirelings who seem to revel in such foolishness. What was it that Jesus said about our days in this world, and the hairs on each head? |

Thoughts to ponder, and I too have wondered a few times about those "loves we left back home." To mimic is a form of praise unless |
