The Kite............. (to my lost childhood) One day my kite got tangled in a palm tree I jerked & pulled but the string snapped-- I stood watching as it fluttered in the wind-- tail flapping-- trying to work free That night I prayed for a wind-gust to release it The next day when I woke up it was pouring When it eased to a drizzle I got dressed and hopped on my bike. I arrived just in time and with eyes full of rain I waved it goodbye as it sailed toward the rainbow...... |

Ah, innocence lost, or dreams denied... I understand. Good thing we get our hands on new kites, though, at different times in life. ![]() My best~ Amaryllis A pile of scribbles here: |

Margherita, 2islander2, Amaryllis, JerryPat: Glad you all enjoyed my journey back in time... Yes Amaryllis, there are new kites --probably more colorful--but there's something about that first one flying over the rainbow... Al Amaryllis |

Kite flying is such a delight in summer time. Offcourse the risk of bumping into that palm tree is always there. ![]() "Hardwork pays in the long run" |
