cold dark night thinking cold dark thoughts about his cold dark existence walking the streets rain turning to sleet numbed him to the bone mid-thirties still playing rebel with a cause no longer as easy as it used to be still . . . there he was cold and alone stiff night wind slapping him in the face with gritty sleet he'd heard it said given a choice between humble and cocky go with cocky you'll have time to be humble later after you've been proven wrong all wrong so very, very wrong no where to go no one to write to no one to write to him his address . . . Dear Occupant sometime ago he joined that lost tribe tribe of wanderers of the soul not a picket fence kinda guy no still . . . he'd pull the trigger 'cept if he did might change his mind bullets don't have reverse I love you, Misty! the reason for his despair she answered "What became of them?" who?he wanted to know "The others you've said that to." |

Interesting read, and thought-provoking. It's tough walking out, or back, in inclement weather that one did not choose, and tougher hiding out on the way from some malicious ****bag(s) in a ****box. And it is very tough being in the middle of life without anybody to care whether one lives or dies. LOL, best wishes of the season to you! |

Hah! You're right on all accounts, Easy. Life's a three-ring circus and sometimes you wind up with the clowns. Thanks for being here. . . . and the Raven said, %!~#&(!$! |

Welcome to Pip, dear Jerry! I love the vividness of your poem, and the conclusion is powerful! Humbleness is a great virtue and it comes with experience of life no doubt. Love, Margherita |

Thank you for your welcome, Margherita , I very much appreciate it. Humbleness is a state of mind many of us fall into only when it benefits us. That, sadly is the truth of the matter, although I know there are true humble people, it seems to carry a stigma of weakness to it. I thank you again for your input. . . . and the Raven said, %!~#&(!$! |

Bullets don't need a reverse to change one's mind. An interesting read. Peace. "We'll chase them like rats across the tundra." |

Most of the rebels live alone, wonder why? Many thought provoking lines here. Fine writing, Jerry. "Hardwork pays in the long run" |
