she walked in alone like always our old eyes watched her slip onto a barstool dry white wine had been poured to almost overflowing waiting for her she bent her head parted crimson lips drank without touching the glass with her hand straightened up looked around the lounge we found other things to do with our eyes when the cigarette lighter struck old eyes looked again she smoked those long thin brown ones expertly tapped ashes off in ashtray we watched each minuté ash drop took her time with the wine when she brought it to her mouth tip of red tongue peeked from behind parted lips old eyes observed everything about her put the cigarette in the ashtray got up and walked to the bathroom walk . . . such an anemic word sashayed is a better one for what she did with her body old eyes followed every move old eyes never strayed from the restroom door imagining her behind it continued staring until she walked out giving old eyes meaning of life |

You sure fooled me with the title to this one. From an old eyes perspective I have to agree. "walk . . . such an anemic word" It is when I walk these days. The images jump to life in this one Jerry. A topic everyone can relate to and yes, the meaning of life, he he where would we be otherwise. Eric This band's won two grammys for instrumentals. You don't know how that makes me feel as the lead singer! |

Hah! A little misdirection with the title. Actually it wasn't done on purpose, Eric, but I can see why you were taken aback. thanks for being here. . . . and the Raven said, %!~#&(!$! |

They never blinked His old man's eyes For what he sought He wished to see And though she stood Within his view The answer's still A mystery "We'll chase them like rats across the tundra." |
