It's just a truant mind in flight
that wreaks havoc with the soul
and causes an internal spin
in different parts of the whole.

First here then there; it's not as if
it seeks to be confined
or bound in place with whisperings
and empathetic lullaby's.

Freedom to the mind!
Oh, yes, it's so inclined
yet in its run down avenues
it pushes me aside.

Not so the soul for it's entwined
with every thought of mind
and thinks nought of amendments
issued from the side-lines.

So there it was, the run and shake
in search of something, anything,
to hitch itself to
and be as one satisfied.

I think it found it, yes it did,
when sleep o'er took awareness
but it's not to say that memory
won't re-enact the run.

Truant minds with souls entwined
and I can't say that one day
it will be as dust to dust
and forever more be still!

Helen
It seems that all of us humans have the same spin as we roll on down through it all.
It would be a boring world without truant minds wouldn't it? Where would the best of artistic creations come from??
Irving Berlin once said the best of songs just come down from heaven somewhere out of the realms of subconscious.

However I have put in a call to the truant mind officer and you're in a heap of trouble girl!!

Fine writing!!

Trouble?  Are you telling me something I don't know - but, hey, when all is said and done I'm really just on the sidelines here so send the officer elsewhere will you.

There are some things that don't actually come from heaven but maybe it's heaven that directs it my way - yeah, as if I haven't got enough of my own stuff to deal with.  Life is great, yes?

Thanks, Eric.

Yep. Life IS great, Helen, even wit that pesky truant mind running loose and creating havoc. It usually plays itself out in time for you to rest up for the next salvo. Sometimes.

. . . and the Raven said, %!~#&(&#!$!
