From the tent of salvation we wander into holy crèche's where slanted content grow tall and strong the garden of self-worth's resistance self-inflicted agony sans compassion where judgment slips into dislogic wears off like the wonderfulness of a hit song of losers side where he resides in the dustbowl of intention vultures stalk vacant eyes with nothing stares reach for the door, look to elude old lovers screams monsters hold kittens night to regret that is the key a lynching tree brown paper wrapper hides the heat of fear in the season of enmity windowpane reflect the hunkered down poets sans poems living on the dole yellow cheese wedge government pledge singing bluegrass, maybe Johnny Cash write it all down, dreams still young finding right words not easy lips pressed together when insane varnish the walls with genius' blueblood now a death row cell with cobweb sham he's in a jam brand new year, same old same old poets dream love-struck Lucy gags us with clichéd lines poets write castle in the sky love-struck Lucy write her passion her lines suck but don't jive she has her book poets' fry cook mired in ghetto of oppression, one more trick as intimate as two testicles try to work up soulful literary spit world sad condition, weather gone mad ink to paper to tome to grateful reader but sit in self-imposed solitary confinement he knows its great what he creates caring and tender and sensitive and all of that writes of clouds and rainbows and fish that speak so above the throng his words of rapture not fair that imbeciles fail to be au fait with lowered expectations they truly read trash unworthy are they this he did write he's dead tonight . . . and the Raven said, %!~#&(!$! We've come a long way from those times and yet we need to get nearer to them, in the crux of the matter, my way of thinking... seems to be your way of thinking too, in part. We need to accept, be better, and grow more in intelligence. Yes? |

I totally agree, Sunshine. Sometimes I write about the unsavory, whether it is personal or in this case the bards among us, the good and the bad. I wrote this in retaliation to a poet who looked down his Russian nose at "love-struck Lucy gags us with clichéd lines." I maintain that Lucy's words meant as much to her as his lofty ones did to him. I personally thought both of them awful, but I imagine they thought the same of mine. Thank you for wading through this poem tonight. . . . and the Raven said, %!~#&(!$! |
