No, I refuse to look at the slaughter, Across the debris upon the water. I'll lie here and struggle with the Demon, Think back when I was an able seaman. It was in the year that Columbus sailed, We set out on our journey although frail. For priceless gold in the Aegean Sea, One for all and all for one we agreed. The sea was rough with its thirty-foot swells, Two went overboard, then the compass fell. With no moon to guide the way, we were lost, And sick to our stomachs as the ship tossed. Though battered and bruised we at last made land. We anchored and went ashore like we planned. We soon found baubles in the island's heat, Later it would be known we landed on Crete. In the hold of the ship we laid our gold, After all our trouble we're pirates bold. We hoisted the anchor and sailed away, From these Greek islands through that inlet bay. Past a craggy cliff we drifted on by, These beautiful maidens did catch our eye. A song so sensuous we'd never heard, And oh, those women sang like pure, rare birds. We heaved to and crashed into foamy waves, As they beckoned us, we were all so brave. Too late we saw them for what they were, The ship crashed the cliffs, it was all a blur. I'm still alive while the others are dead, Washed up on the rocks I use as my bed. The beautiful women have turned to hags, Take turns with my body for one more shag. . . . and the Raven said, %!~#&(!$! |

Better to perish with your mates, me thinks. You tell a fine tale here me friend, but unfortunately I seem to have washed up onto the same beach. And here I thought this was Club-Med with just some really ugly waitresses. "We'll chase them like rats across the tundra." |

Wonderful tale on the high seas, love the twists and nostalgia you evoke.... They shag ya when you're trying to be so good, they shag ya just like they said they would, they shag ya when you're trying to go home, they shag ya when you live all alone!! |

Haha!! Thanks Blues. Wrote this nutty poem a few years back. Don't know where it came from and never wrote another one even close to it. . . . and the Raven said, %!~#&(!$! |
