he was the plunky pugster in his pink tee
his harp loaded with arrows to fly
from a yellow checker cab backseat
he called it camouflage among lemons

I mentioned I didn't need inspiration
since I had already sipped a fifth
and even swallowed the worm on purpose
or maybe it was a cigarette discarded

my vinal jacket was leather in it's mind
as it made those skin on skin vulgarities
and wafted the scent of last year cigars
in a closet full of vacuum cleaner aftershave

I admitted to a jury of my fellow pee'rs
that I was guilty of flipping him off
and degrading the good humor man's name
and that without medication I would again

from which they nodded in mutual abusement
