Today you sent an email,
After I'd asked you not to write,
Not because I hate you
But because I don’t want a fight.

My finger lingered over 'Reply'
And I searched for thoughts to express
I wanted any kind of conversation
Then I remembered how we'd made this mess.

I wanted to know how you are.
And I wanted to know that you're alright
I wanted to feel your kind words
I'd have replayed each line through the night.

I needed to know you were still listening
And I longed to call and hear your voice
I thought about the things you'd say
And how none of this was my choice.

I pretended I was annoyed
You had'nt done what I'd expected
I wasn’t sure whose benefit it was for,
But it kept me from feeling rejected.

But today I put my foot down,
You've got to say enough's enough.
So I will sit here in silence
As I try to call your bluff.

"Indecision may or may not be my problem.”

I see indecision doesn't only mock me. Enjoyed this.
