You are in my peripheral vision
but when I go to focus, you disappear.
Were you ever there to begin with
or is my mind also trying to torture me?

I will fight back by writing this poem.
Here, we are etched, forever
Here we are together
in love
and happy.

What actually happened does not stand a chance in my poem.

Here, we never have hurt each other.
Here, we are still smiling at each other.
Here, we spend our nights with each other.

This is still my poem:
Where we hold hands,
Make love,
Share stories,
No longer cry.

Here you still love me,
and I no longer miss you,
because you are right here.
Only in this poem.

a poem comes from a heart

may your heart be filled with your significant other and you continue to write your poetry

Enjoyed reading this! Part of a true poet's gift is indeed a fighting spirit---and not in vain, either.

It is our gift to dream so that we might keep and share them with those that have forgotten how. ebm
