The hospital laboratory everyone comes with dread Blood tests with needles to have arms bled Transfusion...I mean transformation this time of year At Halloween time patients have no fear The sterile white is no more A friendly ghost greets you at the door Green cobwebs are everywhere And purlpe spiders...you must beware "I'm the Vampire on duty." I say with a grin "This is Dracula's Pub, so come right in." They laugh and say "Do you serve beer?" I say "No, but there's Blood Pints here!" There's more to see by far Even eyeballs in a jar Test tubes you will find With ghoulish things of every kind Bats and rats and even a crow I think we must have got him from "Poe" For when he croaked "Never More!" A patient almost fainted to the floor You'll see a pumpkin or two Maybe more before you're thru The TRICK is your test is done The TREAT is you didn't even know we'd begun [This message has been edited by katahdin (10-17-2010 08:23 PM).] |

My step-sister is a professional blood sucker... she'd get a kick out of this one. Thanks for sharing this perfect treat. "We'll chase them like rats across the tundra." |

Thanks Andrew Scott, glad you liked it. The Lab where I work is all decked-out for Halloween with all the things I mentioned in the poem plus alot more. It's really something to see and lots of fun for the patients. Kat >^..^< |

LOL good, this --- Kat, you should be writing the Halloween TV/radio ads. Thank goodness you all are not scaring folks with museum-style displays of some of that pre-20th-century equipment. |

Thanks easy1. We're just having some fun and we even give out candy to everyone. Kat >^..^< [This message has been edited by katahdin (10-18-2010 05:55 AM).] |

I love this poem. ---- You must be good at your job if you can stick the needle in without the patiet noticing. Those are the best nurses in my book! |

I'm not especially fond of needles O_O but for ehh... "bloodsuckers" to start before I even know it, would be a treat. Enjoyed this. -Trina. |

I just donated at my local "pub". They had the same sign and it was really cool. Great read! ebm |
