What fine weave these words we write
Knowing the weft of them to simply be a dream
Never spun on wheel or held in hand
But of gossamer and stars, of sky and wind
We see or feel yet cannot hold
Or wear to cover the naked  real

Along the warp we bleed
Staining stark white with set aside moments
Hoarded along with 12 pieces of silver
And the coins to  weight the eyes when alone
We must pay the ferryman his toll
Or wait upon the shore
Between abyss of lost, and absinth of heart

Such a ransom costs
To preserve an innocent enclave
As we hide the fear among shiny syllables
Tying to threads with delicate knots
Ententred  sounds the lips seek to form
But are interred underneath the beads clicked rhythmically
In prayers to Virgin clothed in shroud of grace

Oh we pray
And sew the delicate ends of days to fine words
Worn upon the tongue just long enough
For thread count souls to hold a pause
And let the heart believe
Faith can be wrapped on bolt then measured
By the span of hand along the throat
When resolute the nouns
Become names for
What has never
Been

Still I dream
Letting shuttle take its path to carry another strand
And tamp it back in tight lay before the treadle push
Then breathe in the fine lint as comes
From the weave of you in me
To tell another fairy tale that finds discarded ends
A confession of needles stitched on page
Without absolution for coveting the space
Between lines

The loom clup-clicks on

And I am drawn back to watch the flaws ensconced
Within this weave
On yet another
Empty page

I smiled after reading this....made me think of all the happiness/sorrow one puts into writing - into filling the empty page.

EBM.. you are entirely too kind ma'am... but thank you for your reply. I don't see much to be amazed or inspired by in my scribbles, so it is always a surprise to me if someone does.

Stay surprised, sir...

always stay surprised, because
you delight many, and you should
know their gratitude at gifts
such as these.

What can I say that hasn't already been said? You have the most pleasing "scribbles"

truly lovely.

(chuckling) thank you Ms 'Kissed...

"most pleasing scribbles"  sounds a bit like an add for crayons...

"Mom, don't miss out on giving your child the most pleasing scribbles available!"
"For only 9.99 plus shipping and handling, your child will get a box of 64 colors to playfully mark on walls, color in the grout of tiles, or draw their very own mosaics on your floor"

you are kind ma'am....and please pardon my absurd sense fo humor, no disrespect is meant at all...

Do you ever read lines and have them sink so perfectly into your mind it feels they were written to fit those exact neurons? *S* If you do, then you know what these lines were to me... cool drink after drought. *S*

I love where your mind goes and how you express and expose human emotions.

You really gotta stop referring to your poetic gifts as "scribbling".

What you share on these blue pages is very speical.
